Proceed for the tour with the first stop at the Museum Square, where one can still see a few old houses of colonial design. Four old Flame of the Forest still stand in this area, casting a shade over park benches and commemorative stones. The trees were planted by the Chinese, Malay , Indians and European Communities in 1953 to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth ll. From the Museum Square, proceed to the Chimney at Tanjung Kubong, the Chimney is a 106 feet high red brick stack believe to be linked to the coal mining days of Labuan. Itinerary 0930hrs - Meet at hotel lobby and proceed to the Kota Kinabalu main train station. On arrival, briefing by the guide and board the historical colonial era "Steam Engine Train". As the train approaches the final destination, the steward will give a briefing to all passengers on the disembarkation process and the things the passengers can do in the town of Papar. This stopover will be a 30 minute stopover and passengers can visit the local market or just wander through the town. 1000hrs - Train will depart amidst the hissing of steam for the 66km journey to the town of Papar, journey will pass by small towns, paddy fields, mangrove jungle and beaches. Enroute the train will make a stop over at a Chinese Buddhist temple. Passengers can disembark for photo shoot. 1215hrs - Depart Papar town for the return journey to the city of Kota Kinabalu. Proceed for a 30 to 40 minutes drive via the old Penampang-Papar road to the southwestern part of Kota Kinabalu to the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park (about 25 km from the city centre). The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, which occupies an area of 280 acres is one of the largest wildlife parks in Malaysia. Currently, the Park has more than 100 species of tropical animals comprising mammals, birds and reptiles. The park consists of two components: zoological and botanical, as well as a Children's Zoo.
