Itinerary
Day 1: KOTA
KINABALU-KUDAT CULTURAL-LONGHOUSE
Depart from your hotel at
around 08:30 for a 2-hour ++ drive into the Northern Tip of Sabah, Kudat. Kudat is home to
Sabah's most traditional tribal group, the RUNGUS (pronounced Roong-oose), which are
fascinating and friendly people. A stop at Gombizau Village to see how the local honey is
produced and buy some as a tasty sourvenir. Later, stop by at Sumangkap Village - a gong
making village. Gongs are the major Rungus musical instruments. Next stop, settle at
Bavanggazo Village to witness the lifestyle, culture and traditional costume and beads of
the Rungus. Evening after dinner, join in their merry making and enjoy the Rungus
traditional dance performances. Overnight at Bavanggazo Village Homestay. (Lunch & Dinner)
Day 2: KUDAt BEACH-TIP
OF BORNEO
After breakfast, drive to the
TIP of Kudat, also known as Simpang Mengayau. Reaching there is a significant achievement
on its own as you have basically reached the very TIP OF BORNEO island. Kudat has some of
the finest beaches in Sabah. An opportunity to visit the BAK BAK Beach and enjoy a simple
picnic lunch. Check into the KUDAT MARINA RESORT, the only resort with beautiful landscape
and waterfront overlooking the beach. Refresh, free and easy. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
Day 3: KUDAT-KINABALU
NATIONAL PARK-PORING HOT SPRING-KUNDASANG
Depart Kudat early in the
morning and detour to Kinabalu Park, where sits the highest mountain in Southeast Asia.
Along the way, stop at Nabula Village. After Kinabalu Park, drive to Poring Hot Spring,
Lowland Dipterocarp Forest makes most of the vegetation at Poring and it is an excellent
place to view lowland birds and some mammals. A shoer trek to the canopy walkway for a
bird's eye view of the Tropical Rainforest. Overnight at mountain lodge or similar. (Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)
Day 4: KUNDASANG-KLIAS
RIVER CRUISE (KUALA PENYU - Wildlife Cruise)
After breakfast, depart to Kota Kinabalu. Stop
at Kundasang and visit the ROSE GARDEN. Relax and return to Kota Kinabalu. Stop for a
quick lunch, then head to South bound. Depart for a 2-hour drive to South out from the
city, passing through scenic countryside, rice fields, local villages and plantation. Stop
and visit Papar, one of the small sleepy towns in Sabah before proceeding to kampung KLIAS
where we will start the river cruise journey after an afternoon village tea break. The
most famous creature to be sighted is undoubtedly the bizarre Proboscis Monkeys. Late
afternoon, river cruise to search for the elusive Proboscis Monkeys. You can also try your
luck at river fishing while waiting for the BATS to fly over. Cruise back and be thrilled
by the FIREFLIES. Later, enjoy a Malay styled dinner. Transfer back to hotel. Overnight at
hotel. (Breakfast,
Lunch, & Dinner)
Day 5: KOTA
KINABALU-AIRPORT
After breakfast, depart home.
TOUR ENDS or Extension Stay in Kota Kinabalu. (Breakfast)
