Delicacies - Menu for March 2001


(Pickled Sour-Fruit: KadazanDusun Dish)




1 Kati sour fruit (tulod-ulod)

2 inches ginger – sliced

1 inch fresh tumeric – pounded

2 – 3 red onions – sliced

4 – 6 red chillies

2 teaspoon sawl seed

3 tablespoon cooking oil

salt to taste

Aji no moto (optional)




  • Wash and drain sour fruit well.

  • Ina kuali, fry onions till lightly brown. Add in the ginger, tumeric, chilies, sawi seeds and seasoning, fry for I minutes

  • When ready add in the sour-fruit and simmer for 5 minute still cooked.

  • Remove and serve with rice
