Full Day Excursion to Usukan Cove in Kota Belud, on the north-western part of Sabah, and enjoy the wetlands and river cruise along Usukan Bay Itinerary for Kota Belud Wetlands Usukan Cove Pick up from City Hotel at ~1.30 pm and depart for Kota Belud (~1.5 hour drive only from KK City). A journey offering a scenic view of paddy fields, villages and picturesque sight of Mount Kinabalu from a different angle. Arrive at Usukan Cove Lodge (UCL). Proceed to the world famous Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. The journey overland will take approximately 30 minutes. On arrival, register at the reception counter. Firstly, proceed for a 30 min video show and briefing on the Centre. The Centre was founded in 1964, to rehabilitate orphaned baby orangutans – most rescued from logging sites/plantations because of illegal hunting or illegal pet trade. Proceed to the Platform to observe the daily feeding of the Orang Utan (time: 1000 hrs). In addition, you can visit the nursery area where the younger Orang Utans first learn to be outside and play on a large climbing frame. Depart Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre for the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary. This privately-owned sanctuary in the centre of the mangrove forests gives you the chance to observe the proboscis monkey up close and personal. Descriptive Itinerary Morning Departure : 0930hr   Afternoon Departure : 1430hr Meet on arrival at airport / ferry terminal or at Hotel Lobby. Proceed for the tour with the first stop at the Museum Square, where one can still see a few old houses of colonial design. Four old Flame of the Forest still stand in this area, casting a shade over park benches and commemorative stones. The trees were planted by the Chinese, Malay , Indians and European Communities in 1953 to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth ll. From the Museum Square, proceed to the Chimney at Tanjung Kubong, the Chimney is a 106 feet high red brick stack believe to be linked to the coal mining days of Labuan. Itinerary 0930hrs - Meet at hotel lobby and proceed to the Kota Kinabalu main train station. On arrival, briefing by the guide and board the historical colonial era "Steam Engine Train". As the train approaches the final destination, the steward will give a briefing to all passengers on the disembarkation process and the things the passengers can do in the town of Papar. This stopover will be a 30 minute stopover and passengers can visit the local market or just wander through the town. 1000hrs - Train will depart amidst the hissing of steam for the 66km journey to the town of Papar, journey will pass by small towns, paddy fields, mangrove jungle and beaches. Enroute the train will make a stop over at a Chinese Buddhist temple. Passengers can disembark for photo shoot. 1215hrs - Depart Papar town for the return journey to the city of Kota Kinabalu. Monsopiad Cultural Village (EB-KK04)

Itinerary Meet at hotel lobby and proceed to Monsopiad Cultural Village located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Kota Kinabalu. On arrival, register at the reception counter, meet the local guide for the village and proceed to the restaurant for a welcome drink. After the welcome drink, follow the guide to visit the various traditional farmhouses. In the farmhouse are displays of various tools, baskets, musical instruments and other everyday tools, food that the local natives use. Within the Monsopiad Village is the "Gintutun do Mohoing", a stone monolith erected long ago, a silent witness to many legends of Monsopiad. Within it, is believed to dwell spirits from the past. Today, many people visit the stone for luck. The guide will explain the various houses, the materials used, the methods use to de husk the staple food "rice". Finally visit the "House of Skulls" where the 42 skulls of Monsopiad enemies are kept. Proceed to the multi purpose hall to witness the "Cultural Dances Performances ". Proceed for a 30 to 40 minutes drive via the old Penampang-Papar road to the southwestern part of Kota Kinabalu to the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park (about 25 km from the city centre). The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, which occupies an area of 280 acres is one of the largest wildlife parks in Malaysia. Currently, the Park has more than 100 species of tropical animals comprising mammals, birds and reptiles. The park consists of two components: zoological and botanical, as well as a Children's Zoo. You will be able to witness rare animals like the endangered pygmy elephants, gibbons, clouded leopard, civet cats, tarsiers and orang utans. 1100 hr - Catch the entertaining Animal Show at the Park's Amphitheater (except Friday).
