In memory of US 'terror victims' (Brunei)

The Embassy of the United States of America opened a condolence book in remembrance of victims of the terrorist attacks in the US.

The condolence book was opened for two days concluding yesterday for people from all walks of life to express their sympathy.

Her Royal Highness, Pengiran Isteri Hajjah Mariam, also conveyed a message of sympathy. Her Royal Highness wrote, "With deepest condolences, warmest thoughts and prayers to the families of victims for their loss and suffering during this time of bereavement."

In addition to the members of public, officials from the embassies and consulates of other countries also paid their respects.

Andre and Petra Kaptein, a couple on holiday from the Netherlands, told the Bulletin that they were on a trip from Kota Kinabalu to Brunei and took the opportunity to visit the US Embassy at Teck Guan Plaza to write a message of sympathy and sign the book.

A large crowd packed the office of the US Embassy yesterday afternoon to express their sadness over the tragic event.

Some brought with them flowers, adding to the numerous bouquets of flowers already present.
